Poster of Yamaguchi plant Yamaguchi plant

THK's Yamaguchi plant is in Sanyo-cho, Asa County, Yamaguchi Prefecture, on the westernmost tip of Honshu. It is one of THK's main plants for manufacturing LM guides, the foundation of THK's offerings. The plant is blessed with a rich environment, overflowing with greenery. We have taken "We want to leave the earth beautiful" as our basic ideology. All of our employees participate in activities to protect and improve the environment. To encourage their participation, we have held contests for the best environmental photos and slogans. These are used on posters that are displayed all over the plant.

Left Side Poster Says:
Basic environmental ideology: We want to leave the earth beautiful.

Environmental slogan--highest award:
Be considerate. The earth is everyone's home.

Implementation of the co-generation system(left photo)
The co-generation system is a hybrid system that produces and distributes a composite of more than two types of effective two-dimensional energy taken from one energy source. Instead of the buying electricity as is usually done, we generate electricity on the plant grounds. In addition, we collect the exhaust heat from engines and use it for air-conditioning. This system cuts the loss from electricity transmission, and by making effective use of two-dimensional energy, we can save energy and resources, as well as reduce CO2. Thus, it is a system that is very kind to the environment.

Emergency training (right photo)
By simulating an emergency such as an oil spill accident, training is held regularly to minimize the effects on the environment.
