We, THK, are a pioneering maker who realized
the rolling motion of linear mechanisms in mechanical tools
in 1972 which at that time had been considered difficult and
worldwide first commercialized it as the "Linear Motion Guide;
LM Guide." We are also a leading maker who dominates more than
70% of the domestic and 60% of the worldwide share in the current
market. THK promises to expand the importance of our existence
in the community further in 2004 as a company which has changed
the way we create in the world.
THK's main product, the LM Guide, is utilized for linear motion
mechanisms in advanced mechatronics devices. Recently, its applications
have branched out into high-tech medical instruments such as
the CT scanner and MRI, which realize advanced medical treatments
that are indispensable to the future of our society, to the
automobile and railway industry which requires a higher level
of environmental response and performance, and earthquake-resistance/shake-control
devices that protect human life and property.
THK aims at further usability expansion. With our business philosophy
in mind: "providing innovative products to the world and staying
abreast of new trends to contribute to the creation of an affluent
society," we will lay emphasis on introducing new products.
We are planning to expand the product series of "caged ball
structure products - S series." These products, possessing outstanding
features such as long life, low noise emission, high speed,
a long-term maintenance free period, and low dust emission,
are expected to play an active role in the manufacturing industries
of various advanced fields. We are confident that, with these
features, we can help our customers to reduce total costs.
Besides our broad contributions to the industry with these excellent
products, THK is proceeding with a global scale project to accommodate
the needs of the world.
In order not only to promise quality improvement, cost reduction, and curtail the delivery period, but also to establish an infrastructure that can meet various requests from all over the world, THK accomplished second construction operation for the first European LM Guide manufacturing plant, THK Manufacturing of Europe S.A.S. (France) on May 2003. Moreover, we completed the second Ballscrew manufacturing plant of DALIAN THK CO., LTD. ( China ) on December 2003.
