Ceramic LM Guides

In recent years producers of medical devices, nanometer-order processing equipment, and other such items have experienced a growing need for nonmagnetic products, which eliminate the risk of fluctuating magnetic fields. By developing our own technology for processing ceramic materials, which have traditionally been very difficult to work with, THK has successfully produced the world's first ceramic LM guides. We have equipped these products with special features that make them nonmagnetic, lightweight, high-speed, and highly resistant to corrosion.

Roller Guides with integrated Retainers SRG15 , 20

The ultra high rigidity Roller Guides SRG Series, with integrated roller retainers providing low-friction and smooth maintenance free motion, gets two new additional sizes, SRG15 and SRG20.

1.Ultra High Rigidity
The ultra high level of rigidity is achieved through the use of rollers that exhibit little elastic deformation, and the roller length is designed to be more than 1.5 times the roller diameter. Furthermore, the rollers are orientated in 45° contact angle to provide equal load rating capacity in all loading directions.

2.Long Term Free Maintenance
The integrated roller retainers effectively prevent contact between the rollers. They also act as a lubricant reservoir and deposit the required amount of lubrication to the rollers during their recirculating motion. The combined effect of these features makes for long term maintenance free motion.

3.Smooth Motion by Prevention of Roller Skewing

Guided by the integral retainers, the rollers circulate in a uniform manner. This prevents the rollers from skewing while they enter into the loading zones, minimizing rolling resistance variations and providing smooth and stable motion.

Wide Type Roller Guide with Caged Technology SRW

Type SRW, a wide roller guide with Caged Technology features an LM rail 1.5 times wider than the Type SRG roller guide. The double row of mounting holes across the rail width offers superior moment loads and extra rigidity especially when mounted to vertically oriented surfaces.

1. Super High Rigidity
In order to achieve Super High Rigidity, THK employs high-grade steel rollers that offer a higher resistance to distortions under heavy loads. Additionally, the roller dimensional ratio of length to width is 1.5:1. Due to the greater rail width and double row of mounting holes across the rail, the Type SRW roller guide achieves superior performance when handling high moment loads even when used in vertical installations such as walls or on the sides of machines.
Lastly, the 45-degree contact angle for the rollers allows the guide to have an equal load rating in all four load directions. ( Radial, Reverse-radial, and both Horizontal directions)

2. Long-Term, Maintenance-Free Operation
Since there is no friction between the rolling elements, lubricants achieve longer life spans – decreasing the number of times re-lubrication is required.
Also, since THK’s Caged Technology maintains a constant space between the rollers, lubricants accumulate in the spaces and act as a built-in lubrication system.

3. No Skewing with Caged Terchnology

Fluctuations in rolling resistance due to roller skewing are eliminated by the inherent properties of THK’s Caged Technology. Smoother and higher stability of movement are standard features of the Type SRW products.

4. Additional Accessories
Many accessories are also available when the TYPE SRW is used in harsh environments. These include QZ lubricators, LaCS, metal scrapers, plate covers, and an assortment of seals. See our general catalog for all the applicable accessories.

The world’s smallest LM Guide - Type RSR 1 M - only from THK!

THK is proud to introduce a new series of LM Guides - the “Micro LM Guide” or Type RSR 1 and Type RSR 2. Featuring rail widths of 1mm & 2mm’s, respectively, these LM guides are the smallest available anywhere in the world. The addition of these LM guides to THK’s product line is a response to market demands for smaller and more space-saving designs.

Offering high accuracy and smaller sizes customers in the Medical Equipment, Semiconductor Equipment, Precision Instruments, and Measuring Instruments industries now have the ability to use these guides in a variety of applications.

Even smaller than the RSR 3M & 3N guides (3mm & 4mm rail widths) this family of guides allows micro-sized systems and applications to be realized. And, following the superior standards established with THK’s full line of LM Guide products, rolling resistance is minimal and 4-way equal load ratings are standard with the new Type RSR 1 & 2 LM guides. Additionally, Martensite Stainless steel is used to provide high resistance to corrosion in the block and rails.

Heavy Load Ball Screw with Caged Ball Structure - HBN Model
Heavy load ball screws with the caged ball structure (HBN model) drastically improve the rated load compared to the conventional products by utilizing the optimum internal structure for use in heavy load condition.
In this model, the caged ball structure is adopted between balls to eliminate collisions and mutual frictions of the balls and improve the lubricant maintenance. This modification brings about a longer lifetime under heavy load conditions.
The circulation method of the balls utilizes a structure which scoops the balls up into the neighboring line with the return device, and thus durability of the circulation device is greatly improved making it possible to use under conditions of 130 thousand DN value.

Features
1. Heavy Load
By maximizing the merits of the caged ball structure and utilizing the optimum internal structure for heavy load use, this model realizes a twice greater rated load improvement than conventional products.

2. High Speed
For the circulation device (return device), the scoop in the neighboring line direction method (with the adoption of the SBN model) is utilized. The balls are scooped up into the neighboring line direction and they move smoothly without any force, thus realizing ideal circulation.
Further, since the return device and the caged ball structure are designed to have highly efficient durability, they can be used under a condition of 130 thousand DN value.

3. Smooth Slide Movement
By utilizing the caged ball structure, mutual friction of the balls is eliminated and the durability is improved. Further, the structure reduces dynamic torque fluctuation and provides much smoother sliding movements.

4. Low Noise Emission
The caged ball structure installed between the balls eliminates noise caused by ball collision. The return device without lips provides a seamless scoop motion of the balls in the neighboring line direction, also helping to lower the noise emission.

* This product can be applied in injection molding machines, press, blow molding machines, die-casting machines, and extruders; however, it is especially suitable in the application of replacement of hydraulic oil cylinders.

High Speed Caged Ball Ball Screw Type SBK

THK high speed caged ball ball screw type SBK that eliminates collisions and friction between ball and prolongs the effectiveness of grease by utilizing the caged ball mechanism.
This mechanism reduces a noise level, torque fluctuation, and a long maintenance-free period.
Further, this model also incorporates an ideal circulation structure by which the balls are carried up in the direction of a tangent line, thus, making it possible for use under high speed operations of 160,000 DN value.
(* DN value = Permissible rotational speed of the Ball Screw(min-1[rpm]))
(*Type SBK products, each screw axis has major diameter of 36-55mm while each lead has length of 20-36mm.)

Features
Ultra compact
-The RSR 3M/3N has the smallest cross sectional dimensions among the THK's LM guide series. Its ultra compact size and reliability allow considerable saving in space and weight.

Low rolling resistance
-The unique structure of the ball circulation block ensures low rolling resistance and stable operation.

Can carry loads that are put in all directions.
-The RSR 3M/3N can carry loads that are put in all directions because lines of load balls, placed one line on each side, make contact with the rolling groove at an angle of 45 degrees.

Excellent wear resistance
-Martensitic stainless steel is adopted in all of the LM block, LM rail, and balls. This provides for excellent wear resistance and makes the RSR 3M/3N suitable for use in medical equipment and clean rooms.
