Cylindrical rollers are arrayed crosswise, with each roller perpendicular to the adjacent one, in a 90 degrees V shape groove, separated from each other by a spacer retainer. This design allows just one bearing to bear loads in all directions, including radial, axial, and moment loads. The spacer retainer fitting among rollers prevents rollers from skewing and the rotation torque due to mutual friction between rollers from increasing. Compared with conventional types using steel retainers, the THK Cross Roller Ring does not cause one-sided contact of rollers or the locking of rollers. Thus, even under a preload, the Cross Roller Ring provides stable, accurate rotation.
