- I feel that movement of the Miniature LM Guide is heavy. Why is this?
- Refer to the text below.
The Miniature LM Guide uses a gothic arch groove structure. In cases, for example, where the installation tolerance for parallelism of two axes is poor, differential slip (see [1] Circular Arc Groove and Gothic Arch Structure) occurs on the ball, large friction close to slip resistance is generated, and movement sometimes becomes heavy. For details on the mounting surface tolerance of the Miniature LM Guide, see [2] below. Moreover, with a gothic arch structure, you will never feel that movement is heavy in the case of light loads. So, we recommend to use when the load is small. When a heavy load acts on the LM Guide, we recommend the 4-series circular arch groove structure that moves lightly even under large loads.
