THK Obtains ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management System Certification: A Stronger Information Security Management System for Providing Safer, More Secure Services
On November 4, having passed an audit of its information security management system (ISMS), THK CO., LTD. (Minato, Tokyo; President: Takashi Teramachi; hereinafter referred to as “THK”), provider of the OEE Optimization System OMNIedge, became certified under the ISO/IEC 27001: 2022 international standard.

As the adoption of IoT services continues to grow in the manufacturing industry, it is imperative that data obtained from production equipment be kept highly confidential and that cybersecurity risks are addressed. Since THK introduced OMNIedge in 2020, many customers have begun using it on their production floors. In anticipation of expanding this service in the future, THK decided to obtain certification under the ISO/IEC 27001 international standard for information security management systems as a way of providing customers with greater peace of mind as they use it. With this certification, THK can implement stronger protections for important customer data and enhance our information security system in order to provide safer, more secure services overall.
Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our approach to the three key components of information security: confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

OEE Optimization System OMNIedge
OMNIedge is a system for reducing loss that occurs on the manufacturing floor and maximizing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). To this point, it has been developed as a set of solutions like the Predictive Failure Detection AI Solution for linear components and rotary components, which utilizes IoT technology, and the Tool Monitoring AI Solution for cutting tools used in machine tools, all of which focus on preventing loss on the machine side of things. It has also been used to provide services centered on the human element as well, such as the Skill Management AI Solution for centrally managing and visualizing employee skill information on the cloud and the Integrated Maintenance Management System for optimizing maintenance activities. In 2025, the GX Solution was launched as a means for reducing energy loss on the factory level.
