Now Accepting Orders for the Utility Slide Advanced Wheel Guide: A Smooth Slide Mechanism That Uses Wheels for the Rolling Elements
THK CO., LTD. (Location: Minato, Tokyo; President: Takashi Teramachi; hereinafter referred to as “THK”) has begun accepting orders for the Advanced Wheel Guide utility slide, which uses wheels for its rolling components, for the railway and logistics industries.
The Advanced Wheel Guide is a utility slide composed of an outer member and a carriage with mounted wheels.
Possessing the aligning function that THK has developed with the LM Guide, it can absorb error present in rough installations and provide long-term, smooth, and stable guiding motion. Additionally, thanks to superior contamination prevention provided by a proprietary scraper, it can even be used in adverse environments.
While conventional slide rails have seen wide application as sliding elements for medical and office devices, the Advanced Wheel Guide is targeted at the railway and logistics industries. It is projected to see demand for use in rail car doors, automated warehouse racks at distribution centers, and the opening and closing elements of machine tool doors.

Smooth Sliding Mechanism
The alignment function created by the circular arc structure, in which the outer member and wheels make contact at two points, enables smooth sliding motion even when installed onto surfaces with low accuracy.
Superior Contamination Protection
The proprietary scrapers on the ends of the carriage are capable of maintaining contact with the raceway surface for a long time, which grants superior contamination protection compared to slide rails.
Environmentally Conscious Lubrication System
The proprietary grease tank structure is an environmentally conscious lubrication system that reduces the application of excess grease and avoids contaminating the surrounding area by applying an appropriate amount of grease to the raceway.
