Now Accepting Orders for the Ball Screw Support Unit Model FKT: Contributing to Greater Equipment Accuracy and Life Through High Load Performance
THK CO., LTD. (Location: Minato, Tokyo; President: Takashi Teramachi; hereinafter referred to as “THK”) is now accepting orders for the Fixed-Side Support Unit Model FKT.
Support units are dedicated bearing components used as a set with ball screws. The fixed-side support unit includes an angular bearing, and deep-groove ball bearings are used on the support-side support unit.
Previous fixed-side support units used double-row angular bearings, so they lacked the load capacity required to provide sufficient performance in some applications, such as with ball screws used in a vertical orientation. The triple-row structure used for the Model FKT's angular bearing, however, provides consistent durability even under high loads. This ensures higher accuracy and longer life for equipment, contributing to a greater degree of design freedom and simpler product selection. The Model FKT is available in six sizes, from 10 to 30, to address a wide variety of customer needs.
THK will continue to use the technology and know-how it has cultivated as a top manufacturer of linear motion guides to develop and provide products suited to our customers' needs.
Features
High Axial Rigidity and High Load Performance
By distributing an applied load across the angular bearing's three rows of balls oriented in a face-to-face arrangement, this design enhances axial rigidity in one direction while providing high load-bearing performance overall.
Optimal Bearing Utilization
The support unit uses an angular bearing with high rigidity and low torque to balance the rigidity of the ball screw.
Compact and Easy to Install
The compact design of this support unit makes it easier to install in smaller spaces. The support unit includes a bearing with an adjusted preload, so it can be assembled with a ball screw unit with no further machining, reducing the labor required for installation and increasing the assembly accuracy.
