What precautions should I take when using a single LM Guide on its own?
If a large moment is applied when using an LM Guide in a single-rail configuration, the increased load will be localized on only some balls inside the LM block.
For this reason, it is recommended that the LM Guide be used in sets of two parallel axes.
However, if using an LM Guide on a single axis due to space constraints, the following measures can be taken.
- Use the Model HDR, which is highly rigid in the rolling direction, or the Model SHW or Model HRW, which have wide rails.
- Use long blocks.
- Increase the number of blocks.
