What precautions should be taken when using an LM Guide in a mounting orientation other than horizontal (vertical, wall-mounted, inverted, etc.)?
When using an LM Guide in an orientation other than horizontal, we recommend a four-way equal load LM Guide, which has the same load rating in all four directions and can be used in any orientation.

When using an LM Guide in an orientation other than horizontal, the following measures can be taken.
- When the mounted load is heavy:
Consider using a half-pitch (double the normal number of mounting holes) to increase the strength of the LM rail mounting bolts.
- When using a wall-mounted LM Guide:
Consider including an abutting surface where you will mount the LM Guide to prevent a shearing load from being applied to the LM rail mounting bolts.
- Regarding lubricant supply:
If the LM Guide is not mounted horizontally, it may be difficult for lubricant to be distributed evenly across the raceway.
Therefore, please inform THK of how each LM block will be used, including the mounting orientation and the location of the grease nipple and pipe fittings.
