- What is the optimal layout when large moments will act on an LM Guide?
- An LM Guide can withstand moments in three directions: Ma (pitching), Mb (yawing), and Mc (rolling).
Optimizing the LM block layout can allow it to withstand larger moments.
・ When the moments in the Ma or Mb directions are large:
Use two blocks per axis with a wide block span. If the number of blocks cannot be increased, use a long block rather than multiple standard blocks.
・ When the moment in the Mc direction is large:
Use two LM Guide units with a wide rail span. If the number of rails cannot be increased, use a model with a wide rail instead of a standard type.
