Accuracy of the Mounting Surface
To achieve a high level of running accuracy, it is also necessary to establish a certain level of accuracy in parallelism and straightness. Preferably, the parallelism and the flatness of the rail-mounting surface should be finished by grinding or similar machining to at least the same degree as the parallelism of the rail (see Accuracy Standard ). Also, mount the rail so that it closely contacts the mounting surface.
