High Rigidity Models RB-H/RE-H/RU-H Added to Cross-Roller Ring Lineup

Achieving High Rigidity and Dimensional Interchangeability with Existing Products

THK has added the high rigidity models RB-H/RE-H/RU-H, which feature dimensional interchangeability with existing products, to the cross-roller ring lineup.

Cross-roller rings are roller bearings that feature cylindrical rollers arranged orthogonally with spacers between the inner and outer rings so as to facilitate load bearing in every direction (radial, axial, and moment loads) in addition to high rotational accuracy. The cross-roller ring, taking full advantage of those characteristics, has been widely adopted as a rotary bearing for equipment that requires high rigidity and high-precision rotary motion, such as machine tools and industrial robots.

The industrial machinery market in recent years has seen a further increase in the rigidity of equipment. By designing the internal structure to be suited to high rigidity, THK added the high rigidity models RB-H/RE-H/RU-H as a high-performance lineup, which feature dimensional interchangeability with existing products, in order to adapt to the need for high rigidity in rotary bearings. The expanded product lineup includes 91 models in total to meet the varied needs of customers: 42 models of RB-H with shaft diameters from ⌀50 to ⌀700, 41 models of RE-H with shaft diameters from ⌀50 to ⌀600, and 8 models of RU-H with shaft diameters from ⌀35 to ⌀350.

Features

High Load and High Rigidity

Because cylindrical rollers are arranged orthogonally with spacers between the inner and outer rings, a single cross-roller ring can bear radial, axial, and moment loads in all directions. In addition, because high rigidity was achieved through a redesign of the internal structure, the cross-roller ring helps to improve the performance of industrial robot joints and rotating parts, as well as machining center swivel tables.

Dimensional Interchangeability

The dimensions are identical to existing products, allowing machinery to be made more rigid without changing mounting interfaces.
