Advanced Wheel Guide AWG for smooth movement even on rough surfaces

With the Advanced Wheel Guide THK is introducing a new linear guide for unlimited strokes that has quiet and stable running properties with little assembly effort.

The model AWG consists of a U-shaped steel profile with two circular arc grooves on the inside and a slider with three or more rollers. THK's unique technology enables quiet, smooth and low-wear movements of the slider even on less precisely machined assembly surfaces. This is achieved by the two inner running grooves in the shape of a circular arc in which the rollers run with almost the same curvature radius without play and allow the slider to achieve a certain degree of self-alignment.

The newly developed contact wipers which are mounted on the front of the slider are designed specifically for use under severe operating conditions. These protect the slider against foreign particles in the long term thanks to their defined contact with the raceways. Furthermore, the newly developed lubrication containers in the slider ensure optimal environmentally friendly lubrication. In addition the sliders can be lubricated using grease nipples on the carriage.

The new model AWG is available in three sizes with load ratings of up to 6800 N. The rail lengths are a maximum of 2.94 m, although the stroke length can be extended by jointing the rails together. With these characteristics the model AWG is ideal for use in warehouse logistics as well as in drawers and doors in railway technology and in machine tools. Download pdf
