Introducing the Full-Roller Type Cross-Roller Ring: Providing High Rigidity and Compatibility with Special Environments

 THK is adding Full-Roller type products to its lineup of cross-roller rings.

 Cross-roller rings are roller bearings with high rotational accuracy that can bear loads in every direction. This makes it possible for a single bearing to tolerate radial loads, axial loads, and moment loads from all directions.

 Cross-roller rings have historically been composed of cylindrical rollers separated by spacer retainers and arranged orthogonally one after another inside a 90° V-shaped groove. Now, six Full-Roller type models (RUV, RBV, REV, RAV, RAUV, and RBUV) are being added to expand the cross-roller ring lineup by a total of 172 model types. These products omit spacer retainers to contain more rollers, which means they deliver higher rigidity and load-carrying capacity while retaining the dimensions of existing retainer-type models for the sake of interchangeability.
 With primary components made of metal, these products can also be used in an array of special environments like vacuums and places where outgassing isn’t possible. They can also be used in the highly demanding special environments of the semiconductor manufacturing equipment and robotics fields.
